Designer Dresses for Any Occasion, Under $100
Over the past year I’ve started to think about my fashion choices more sustainably. I’ve actively tried to move away from fast fashion retailers, focusing more on classic, investment pieces or leaning into vintage and consignment options. I tend to prefer the latter as I find it’s also a little softer on the wallet and I like the idea of extending the life of a piece.
One of my favourite new discoveries is the online (and NY brick and mortar) consignment shop TheRealReal. It has a massive collection of high quality designer consignment items, ranging from apparel to footwear to jewelry to housewares. They have everything - the newest Louis Vuitton collection to gorgeous bags from two decades ago. It is a treasure trove for fashionphiles.
Now, because I love online shopping, I thought it could be fun to play the role of personal shopper and put together a little collection of M&B selections for beautiful designer dresses currently for sale. I’ve gone through thousands of dresses and selected some of my favourites for any occasion. The best part? They are all under $100!
For the sake of transparency, I would just caution you to be aware of the cost of duties if you decide to go ahead and order something from the site. I typically try to guesstimate what the cost could look like using this calculator.
A few additional words of advice - because this is a consignment shop, some of these pieces could be one of a kind (in terms of what’s available). I’ve selected dresses in every size from XS-XL but no guarantees that the dress you like is for sale in your size. However, if the one I’ve linked isn’t your size, try a little search on the site - maybe it’s available for a different price (due to the quality of the consignment piece). And if not, keep an eye on the site for it, because hundreds of new items are added daily. The nature of consignment is that you need to grab a good deal when it’s available and the sizing works!

Granted, I work in the marketing world so my daily uniform is typically a bit more lowkey than most of these but look good, feel good right?! I think these dresses will make you feel like you can crush that presentation or impress at your pitch. And utility dresses are very now, in case you were wondering.
Girls Night Out / Bachelorette
A little glitter, a little glam, a little skin. I love these dresses and can totally see a gal pack tearing up the dancefloors in Vegas wearing them.
Brunch / Casual Dates
Eggs benny, oat milk lattes, cute dresses, and quiet Sundays. There’s nothing better in this world, no?
Wedding / Special Event
Please forgive me for all the silk - I am truly obsessed. IMHO, silk is the fabric of the decade.
The Perfect LBD
For when you don’t want to have to think too hard about what to wear. Dress it up, dress them down. A black dress is versatile and eternally chic. I love a little spaghetti strap, if you couldn’t tell.
