A Nomad's Highlight Reel on Film

Mumbles and Bumbles is very excited to introduce our first ever contributing travel writer, Connor Lutzko! He documents his nomadic adventures through film, the most recent of these videos being Moments to Memories 2, captured on a Sony A6300 and DJI Mavic Pro. Check out his author’s bio for a few extra tidbits about his travels.

My most recent video Moments to Memories 2 was primarily shot over a two month time period. It featured 3 continents: North America, Europe, and Asia including 9 different countries: Japan, Korea, England, France, Spain, Portugal, USA and Canada. It’s trips like these where I find I develop the most as a person. This is because I am by myself doing the things I truly love to do every waking hour. I find that you stretch your limits in situations like these that ultimately lead you to being a better, more effective person.

Restaurants

One of the most exciting things about getting a lot of time to travel to new places is the food. I am very open minded so I will eat essentially anything. With that said, these were my three favourite restaurants of my M2M2 travels:

1) Genki Sushi, Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan
- Cheap
- Great variety of choice
- Traditionally served on a conveyor belt
- Fresh seafood

2) Southern Hospitality, New York City, USA
- Great Barbecue
- Justin Timberlake owns the restaurant (pretty cool dude)
- Cool, young vibe located five minutes from times square

3) Pizza Circus, Barcelona, Spain
- You get a lot for a little, the slices of pizza are two times the size of my head
- Conveniently located off of Las Ramblas
- Open late so when you need a drunk munch they got you covered

Hostels

1) Out of The Blue Hostel, Ponte Delgada, Azores
- The nicest “hostel” I’ve ever stayed at in my life.
- The staff were the friendliest people I have encountered in my years travelling
- Also the Azores itself is beautiful and makes an appearance in the opening minutes of Moments To Memories 2

2) Oasis Backpackers Hostel, Lisbon, Portugal
- Super friendly staff
- Great location
- Incredibly fun environment

Top places I would recommend, featured in the video:

1) Azores, Portugal
One of the most beautiful places in the world. It’s made up of nine volcanic islands and the islands are incredibly green. I personally recommend going to the most populated island, Ponte Delgada since it has an international airport and has many things to do and see. I see it as a hidden treasure because there are very few tourists that go to the Azores, which can make for a much more honest perspective of the island.

2) Lake Kawaguchiko, Japan
If you want to be completely mesmerized I would strongly recommend visiting this area in the autumn season. The reason for this is because the city is surrounded by mountains that are lit up in fall colours, not to mention you get to see Mt. Fuji in all of its beauty.
