Heavenly Bodies: Met Gala 2018 Roundup
Every year on the First Monday of May, Anna Wintour and her selected team of superstars put on "the most fashionable night of the year" - the Costume Institute Gala, otherwise known as the Met Ball. Famous faces from the art, fashion, philanthropy, and entertainment worlds collide on this evening for a party unlike any other, in support of New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art's newest exhibition.
The planning committee responsible for this year's evening of glamour and cultural prestige was comprised of Amal Clooney, Rihanna, and Donatella Versace. The theme? Celestial Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination - an homage to the influence of Catholicism and religious symbolism in fashion.
I must say I was supremely excited for this theme - gods and goddesses, angels and demons, falls from grace and ascensions to higher being. The theme made for a litany of metaphors on the red carpet and Hollywood, you did not disappoint. From stained glass bodices to frieze inspired gowns, cherub symbolism to gorgeous halos, I can't wait to analyze each of these outfits in the coming days. At first glance however, these were my favourite hits and most fantastic misses. Comment below if you have any others to add!

Shameless (but equally hilarious) self-promotion. A guy has gotta do what a guy has got to do.
Liza Koshy
This one here was a swing and a miss for me. I understand the naked dress is a big theme on the Met carpet but toss in the nun habit vibes to try and match the theme and it was a celestial flop.
Kylie Jenner & Travis Scott
The sunglasses hurt my fashion loving soul - if you are going to be avant-garde at least do it to theme, Kylie! Although, to be fair the dress is lovely, if not a tad boring.
