STYLE INSPO: Amber Heard
Truth be told, I do not know that much about Amber Heard, professionally or personally. I've caught brief snippets about her activism within the LGBTQ+ community, and seen the gossip tabloids about her relationship with Johnny Depp. However, I've followed her style evolution for a long time now, noting the interesting mix between the sensual and contemporary style she is more often known for despite the incredible vintage bohemian look she has perfected. With her newest role in Magic Mike XXL out now, I expect that we will be seeing a lot more of this beautiful woman and her fascinating style in the months to come.
Amber Heard stands out on the red carpet and her aversion to anything too glitzy or bedazzled in favour of beautiful gowns that are typically on the more simplistic side are exactly the reason why. One of my favourite things about Heard's style is the casualness of it all. If she's wearing a gown or chic cocktail dress, she counters with a messy bun. If she's wearing a t-shirt and skirt (on the Cannes' red carpet no less!), she glams it up with beautiful barrel curls. And her perfect accessory every time is a bold and colourful lip.
The absolute best street style is that which is easily imitable. Want to look put together even in your slouchiest of outfits? Take a page from Heard's book and focus on the accessories. Jeans and a plain shirt can be instantly elevated by a good pair of loafers, a leather belt, a beautiful bag or quality sunglasses (or all of the above). Lessons learned: invest in accessories and they will do the work for you.
Again, so wearable. Mimic Heard's style with patterned midi or maxi skirts, oversized jackets and felt hats. I love her co-ord skirt style and her pattern mixing in another outfit. If you guys haven't noticed by now, I am a huge fan of a neutral wardrobe with some pops of colour. Unexpected pairings and comfortability are huge factors for me in what makes an outfit fun to wear. Amber Heard checks the boxes on all of these categories with ease.
Not many women can pull off all three of their signature looks in a single outfit but Heard does it with ease. Bright lips, a skirt and flowy pants collide in this chic white ensemble.
